This can be either inshore for species such as roosterfish, or offshore for billfish such as marlin and sailfish. The Northern Caribbean boasts some of the best tarpon fishing in the world.

A visit to Costa Rica is not complete without the experience of a rain forest or cloud forest "zip-line" canopy tour. This is a zip line cable that extends from tree to tree. The platforms where you are attached to the cable can be as high as 200 feet, so it is not for those with fear of heights. Speeds reached on the cables can be as high as 60 mph.

Costa Rica has some of the best rafting rivers in the world. There are rafting experiences for the beginner all the way up to the experienced rafter. Rafting in Costa Rica also provides an opportunity to experience Costa Rica's natural beauty that otherwise stays hidden from the eye in super remote locations.

The best rafting in Costa Rica can be found in the Caribbean slope areas near Turrialba and Sarapiqui. Rafting on the Pacuare and Reventazon is best arranged from San Jose. Rafting on the Sarapiqui is often arranged from La Fortuna. There are other great trips as well such as the Naranjo in Quepos.
Costa Rica has some great locations for diving and snorkeling. For the real adventurous there is Cocos Island. However, to do that trip you have to spend three days on a boat just getting there. More relaxed day trip adventures can be arranged.
