Costa Rica is unlike many tourist destinations that are one shot deals. You fly in, you get a hotel, you either stay put, or maybe venture out a little to see some local stuff, then you fly home.
For that the typical travel agent on main street back home may work just fine.
Or, heaven forbid, you could just book a flight and hotel combo with Orbitz, Travelocity, or Expedia.
Why?
Well, because it’s small enough, safe enough and diverse enough to make it worth your while to travel around a bit, not just stay in one place. In fact, that’s the best way to really experience what Costa Rica is all about.
At a minimum you want to see a volcano, maybe a cloud forest and a beautiful tropical beach. But you can’t do all that the way you do other destinations like Cancun or Cozumel. That is, by booking a big swanky all-inclusive hotel on the beach and renting a motor scooter.
Costa Rica is so diverse and there is so much to see, that it’s virtually impossible to see it all in one trip and certainly not from one location. There’s a smorgasbord of choices and combinations. That’s why it pays to have someone on the ground that knows what the heck they’re talking about. That’s why it works best to have someone design and manage a custom Costa Rica vacation.
So, you are an extreme sports enthusiast. Then have a package customized for that, like our Pure Adrenaline design.
You want to sport fish primarily, but also would like to see the volcano. Great, a custom package is right for you.
You’re mainly interested in cultural sites, or bird watching, or diving, or sailing, or surfing, or under-water basket weaving, perfect, because a custom package is exactly what you need.
I am not writing this to be self-serving, well maybe a little bit. After all, that is exactly what we do at Package Costa Rica.
We specialize in the art of designing and managing the memorable custom Costa Rica vacation.
Because we know that trying to make a one-size fits all Costa Rica vacation is to seriously short sell what Costa Rica has to offer.

Another place where tipping can get a little confusing in Costa Rica is hotels. Depending on the type of accommodation you’re staying in, cultural etiquette regarding tips can change. Things can get a little more complicated when tipping drivers and other people who help you see the sights.
