Club del Mar
My personal favorite of our Jaco Costa Rica hotels. The hotel is not located right in town, but about 5 minutes outside on the way to Playa Hermosa. Hermosa boasts some of the best surf in the country, so Club del Mar can be particularly good for surf bums, like me. The hotel offers a wide variety of room types, from normal Deluxe rooms, to suites and condos. There is a great pool and the place is adjacent to a very nice beach. It is a little out of the hustle and bustle that is Jaco (what is sometimes referred to as the “Myrtle Beach” of Costa Rica), but close enough that you can still get in plenty of trouble there (wink, wink).
Canciones del Mar
A quaint little beachfront boutique hotel right in the middle of Jaco. The bar is named, Saca Gomas (or take away the hangover) and I can attest personally that it is indeed aptly named. The rooms are all suites and feature fully equipped kitchens, if you really must cook something in between trips to the bar and beach. The hotel has a great pool and is located within walking distance of everything is good ole Jaco, the Costa Rica beach town that never sleeps.
Punta Leona
Punta Leona is a place where the tourists and locals mix well. The place has historically been a beach haven for well-heeled ticos from Chepe (tico talk for San Jose). Many are owners of properties within the resort and on any given weekend, there will be tons of ticos flocking to Punta Leona to soak up the rays on one of Costa Rica cleanest beaches. Punta Leona is a resort complex offering just about everything, from pools, to soccer, to tennis, basketball and more. It is located about 20 minutes from Jaco, but everything you will need is right there within the resort complex.
Villa Caletas
Perched 1,000 feet high on a cliff overlooking the Pacific, Villa Caletas is truly a unique boutique hotel experience. It is located about 15 minutes outside of Jaco beach. The hotel itself has a quiet secluded beach area that is a steep walk down and a physically demanding climb back up, but not to worry, they have a shuttle that will take you down as well. One of the most unique elements of this place is the Greek columned amphitheater where guests gather each evening to watch possibly one of the most incredible sunsets one can witness. The hotel features a number of different room categories, with the Master Suites having their own private pools. Of all our options for Jaco Costa Rica hotels, this one is definitely for honeymooners. That is why we feature it on our basic Adventure Romance design.
