A month ago I launched a GoFundMe campaign. I’m calling it Looking for Light in a Tunnel.
What follows is a brief summary of what it’s all about. Please check out the video as well…
I started Package Costa Rica in 2004. I’ve been at it 13 years and have designed and managed literally 1,000’s of trips. In 2012 I hit a snag when our site sort of disappeared from the web! I felt as if I’d been “thrown under the bus” and replaced by big travel agencies in the U.S. I even wrote a blog post rant entitled, A Message for Matt Cutts, the Google guy who was in charge of all things SEO (Search Engine Optimization) back then.
Despite efforts to improve my site and rankings, my sales continued to decline. In 2014 I decided to go back to the U.S. to pursue other opportunities, as well as possibly new avenues of marketing my vacation packages. My decision was met with grave personal tragedy. The campaign video and description goes into all that in detail.
Needless to say, I came back to Costa Rica and now I am in rebuilding mode. I am still setting up Costa Rica vacations. I’ve recently added Colombia to the mix. So, now I do Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua and Colombia. I am also doing Expat Tours and working as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Dominical. I recently published two eBooks, The Impact Revolution and The Definitive Guide to Costa Rica Expat Living. In short, I’ve been busy.
However, lack of funds stemming from the disasters of the last few years is holding me back. So, I am asking for a little help.
Even a small $25 donation would go a long way. In the campaign you’ll see rewards I’ve set up for various levels of contribution.
Bottom line: I’m asking for a little light to make it out of what has been a pretty dark tunnel. Any help you can extend in that regard will be deeply and sincerely appreciated.
Pura Vida!
Scott (Costa Rica Guy)
